    1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect the following categories of personal information:

    Information You Provide Directly:

    • Contact & Account Information: Name, email address, shipping address, phone number, and any information you provide when creating an account or placing an order.
    • Purchase Information: Products ordered, order history, subscription preferences, and billing details.
    • Wellness Assessment Responses: If you complete our wellness assessment, we collect your responses (including information about symptoms, sleep, energy, and general wellness) to help recommend a product. Because this may include health-related information, we treat these responses as sensitive personal information under CPRA and limit their use accordingly (see Section 4).
    • Communications: Any messages, emails, or feedback you send to us, including customer support inquiries and adverse event reports.

    Information Collected Automatically:

    • Device & Browser Data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, and referring URLs.
    • Usage Data: Pages visited, time on site, click patterns, and interactions collected via cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 7).
    • Location Data: General geographic location inferred from your IP address (not precise GPS location).
    • Advertising Identifiers: Data collected by advertising tools such as the Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, and Google Ads for conversion measurement and re-targeting (see Section 3).

    Information from Third Parties:

    • Payment Processors: Our payment partners (Shopify Payments, Stripe, PayPal, etc.) process your payment information directly. VeraTenet does not store credit card numbers, CVVs, or full payment credentials on our servers.
    • Analytics & Advertising Providers: We may receive aggregated or pseudonymized data from analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Meta, Shopify Analytics, and Microsoft Clarity.

    2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use your personal information for the following purposes:

    • Order Fulfillment: Processing purchases, managing subscriptions, shipping products, and handling returns or exchanges.
    • Customer Support: Responding to inquiries, troubleshooting, and processing adverse event reports.
    • Product Recommendations: Using your wellness assessment responses to suggest a protocol that may match your goals.
    • Marketing Communications: Sending promotional emails, product updates, and educational content — only with your consent. You may opt out at any time (see Section 6).
    • Advertising: Measuring the performance of our ads and serving ads to relevant audiences on third-party platforms (see Section 3).
    • Website Improvement: Analyzing usage patterns to improve our website, products, and customer experience.
    • Legal Compliance: Meeting legal obligations, including tax reporting, adverse event record-keeping as required by the FDA, and responding to lawful government requests.
    • Fraud Prevention: Detecting and preventing fraudulent transactions and unauthorized access.

    3. HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION — INCLUDING FOR ADVERTISING

Sale of Personal Information. We do not sell your personal information for money to third-party data brokers. If that practice ever changes, we will update this policy and provide a clear notice before any sale occurs.

Sharing for Cross-Context Behavioral Advertising. Under California law (CPRA §1798.140(ah)), "sharing" includes disclosing personal information to third parties for targeted advertising across different sites and apps — even when no money changes hands. VeraTenet does engage in this type of "sharing." Specifically:

    • Meta Pixel (Facebook & Instagram): We use the Meta Pixel to measure the performance of our ads and to serve relevant ads to audiences on Facebook and Instagram. The Pixel may transmit information such as pages you viewed, products you added to cart, and your email address (in hashed form, via Advanced Matching) to Meta.
    • Google Ads: We use Google Ads conversion tracking and remarketing to measure ad performance and serve ads on Google's properties.
    • Other advertising partners: We may use similar tools from TikTok, Pinterest, or other platforms in the future. We will update this policy when we do.

Your right to opt out of sharing. California, Virginia, Colorado, and Connecticut residents have the right to opt out of this sharing. You may do so by:

    • Enabling Global Privacy Control (GPC) in your browser — we honor this signal automatically
    • Visiting our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page
    • Emailing support@veratenet.com with the subject "Opt-Out Request"
    • Adjusting your browser's cookie settings or using industry opt-out tools such as the DAA WebChoices tool or NAI Opt-Out

Other recipients of your information. We also share information with:

    • Service Providers: Trusted partners who operate our business: e-commerce (Shopify), payment processing, shipping carriers (USPS, UPS, FedEx), email marketing (Klaviyo), and analytics (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity). These parties are contractually obligated to use your data only for services provided to us.
    • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information when required by law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable government request.
    • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.
    • With Your Consent: We may share information for other purposes if you give us explicit consent.

    4. YOUR CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have these rights under the CCPA and CPRA:

    • Right to Know: Request disclosure of what categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you in the past 12 months, the sources, our business purposes, and the categories of third parties with whom we disclosed or shared it.
    • Right to Delete: Request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to legal exceptions (e.g., completing transactions, complying with FDA adverse-event record-keeping, tax obligations).
    • Right to Correct: Request that we correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
    • Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing: Direct us to stop selling (we do not currently sell) or sharing your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. See Section 3 and our opt-out page.
    • Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information: Direct us to limit the use and disclosure of your sensitive personal information (which may include health-related wellness assessment responses) to only what is necessary to provide our services. You may exercise this right on our opt-out page.
    • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not deny you goods or services, charge different prices, or provide a different level of service because you exercised your privacy rights.

How to submit a request: Use our California Privacy Rights Request form, email support@veratenet.com, or call (408) 800-2537. We will verify your identity and respond within 45 days (extendable by 45 more days with notice). You may designate an authorized agent — we may require proof of authorization.

    5. RIGHTS FOR RESIDENTS OF OTHER U.S. STATES

Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have similar rights under their respective laws, including the right to access, delete, correct, and opt out of targeted advertising, sale, and profiling for consequential decisions. To exercise these rights, contact support@veratenet.com. We will verify your identity and respond within the time period required by your state's law (typically 45 days).

Residents of Virginia, Colorado, and Connecticut have the right to appeal our denial of a privacy rights request. To appeal, email support@veratenet.com with the subject "Privacy Rights Appeal." If we deny your appeal, you may contact your state attorney general.

    6. MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS

If you provide your email address (through checkout, wellness assessment, or signup form), we may send you marketing emails about our products, educational content, and promotions. You may opt out at any time by:

    • Clicking the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any marketing email.
    • Emailing us at support@veratenet.com with the subject "Unsubscribe."

Even after opting out of marketing emails, you may still receive transactional emails related to your orders, subscriptions, or account.

    7. COOKIES & TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. These include:

    • Essential Cookies: Required for basic site functionality (shopping cart, checkout, login).
    • Analytics Cookies: Help us understand how visitors use our site (Google Analytics, Shopify Analytics, Microsoft Clarity).
    • Advertising Cookies: Used to deliver relevant advertising and measure campaign performance (Meta Pixel, Google Ads). As described in Section 3, this may constitute "sharing" under California law. You may opt out using GPC, our opt-out page, or browser settings.

Global Privacy Control (GPC): We honor GPC signals as a valid opt-out of sharing for all visitors who send them, regardless of state of residence.

Do Not Track (DNT): There is currently no industry standard for honoring DNT signals, and we do not respond to them. We instead rely on GPC and explicit opt-out requests.

    8. DATA RETENTION

We retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law:

    • Order & transaction records: Retained for a minimum of 7 years for tax and legal compliance.
    • Adverse event records: Retained as required by FDA regulations (21 CFR 111.260).
    • Email marketing data: Retained until you unsubscribe, then suppressed.
    • Assessment responses: Retained for product recommendation purposes; deletable upon request.
    • Website analytics: Typically retained in aggregated/anonymized form.

    9. DATA SECURITY

We implement commercially reasonable security measures: SSL/TLS encryption in transit, PCI-compliant payment processing, and restricted access controls for employees and contractors. However, no method of transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

    10. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Our website and products are intended for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and in particular from anyone under 13 (as defined by the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, COPPA). If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 18, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact support@veratenet.com.

    11. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

VeraTenet is based in the United States and ships within the United States. If you access our website from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States. By using our website, you consent to these transfers. U.S. data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

    12. FINANCIAL INCENTIVE DISCLOSURE

We may offer discounts, early access, or other benefits in exchange for providing your email address (e.g., through our wellness assessment or signup forms). Under the CPRA, these constitute "financial incentives" for the collection of personal information. Participation is voluntary; you may opt into these programs by providing your email, and opt out at any time by unsubscribing. The value of the incentive is reasonably related to the value of your data to us, based on our reasonable estimate of the cost of providing the discount and the revenue generated from email marketing.

    13. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you through the website or email. Continued use of our website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
